Analog Africa

Analog Africa = 'The very finest raw, funky and psychedelic rare tropical sounds from past to present.'

A more than personal Feeërieën favorite: the Frankfurt-based label Analog Africa, which has been releasing essential reissues of mainly African and South American music from the 70s-80s for more than a decade. Mastermind behind the label: DJ and researcher Samy Ben Redjeb. Each release is truly 'a true labor of love' and often takes two years to compile, research, master and press. In short: “Analog Africa releases music that moves, breathes and lives.”

Our personal musical entry tips: 'Saturno 2000 - La Rebajada de Los Sonideros' (the fallout of Mexican sound systems that slow down the rhythm of cumbia), 'Essiebons Special - Ghana Music Power' (a focus on the Ghanaian Essiebons label that wholesales highlife ) and 'Dur Dur of Somalia' (with delicious 'mystery Somali Funk').
