About Boterhammen In Het Park

Boterhammen In Het Park 2025: Dutch-language music in the heart of Brussels

Boterhammen In Het Park is AB’s free midday festival, held since 1990 in Brussels’ Parc Royal. What began as a modest initiative by a sunny kiosk has over the past decades become a staple of the city’s summer calendar. In 2025, we once again welcome you to our cosy festival site during the last week of August – for a bite, a drink and Dutch-language music with character.

As always, de Bokes offers a surprising and diverse programme: from intimate songs to ramshackle guitars, from social engagement to quiet melancholy, from household names to rising voices.

Whether you’re here for a dreamy afternoon concert or a cold drink by the bandstand: everyone is welcome.

This edition brings the whispered indie pop of De Toegift, the explosive energy of Prins S. en De Geit, and the return of iconic group Madou with Vera Coomans, rediscovered thanks to the Canvas series Putain. Guido Belcanto – a beacon of Flemish music for over 40 years – invites young talent such as Kaat Van Stralen, winners of De Nieuwe Lichting. Emma Bale performs an intimate Dutch-language set, Sophie Straat brings her socially engaged ballads, and Simon gives a sneak peek of his new material. MAKSIM, Radio 2’s Zomerhit winner of 2024, promises a dreamy moment. And with LUNA, we welcome the breakthrough voice of last year.

Every afternoon you’ll discover new faves or revisit the classics – beneath the trees, between parliament and palace, with trams, buses and trains just steps away. Boterhammen In Het Park is a warm, welcoming and musical midday moment in the heart of the city. Grab a bench, lounge in the grass, or dance beside the stage.
