Sheherazaad (US) est la dernière protégée d’Arooj Aftab (voir son Vulture Prince, l’un des meilleurs disques de 2021). Son nom fait référence à la narratrice persane des contes des Mille et Une Nuits. Née aux États-Unis et ayant des racines indiennes, Sheherazaad a récemment impressionné avec son EP Qasr sur le célèbre label Erased Tapes (voir aussi : Hatis Noit, Ólafur Arnalds). Arooj Aftab : « Sheherazaad a le courage de supprimer 90 % de l’instrumentation. Elle fait vraiment chanter la musique. »
